The Australian Protectionist Party is delighted to announce the candidacy of Mr. Troy Ellis, 43, for the federal seat of Swan. Troy has lived most of his life in the Swan electorate, and attended Como Senior High School. He is very committed to helping his local community, and securing better outcomes for the people of Swan.

Troy has been heavily involved in volunteer and community work for many years, and has a deep commitment to helping the less fortunate. He is a former Board Member of the Perth Lions Club. He is passionate about the environment and human rights, and has been a member of Greenpeace, Amnesty International, The Australian Conservation Foundation, and the Word Wildlife Fund. Troy is a former Committee Member, and Environment Convenor with the United Nations Association of WA.

In 1993, Troy contested a council position with the City of Canning. That same year, he contested the WA state election as a candidate for the Greens.

An experienced actor, and accomplished public speaker and MC, Troy was an announcer for years with Perth’s Channel 7 Christmas Pageant.

Troy is a co-founder of HOME (Humans On Mother Earth), a humanitarian group concerned with tackling homelessness, starting with the homeless in Perth. He is also the founder of PASCARR (People Against Speed Cameras and Radar Revenue).

Troy was attracted to the Australian Protectionist Party because of what he saw as the genuineness of the APP to think outside the square, to oppose encroaching government interference in people’s lives, and to put the interests of ordinary Australians first.

  1. Well done Troy: we certainly need representation in the Swan area, as Midland and surrounds contain a considerable contingent who share our values. Now that the APP is more visual, perhaps there will be a recrudescence of interest in political participation in an organisation that is actually proactive in working for the interests of Australians. Who on earth can working class Australians vote for? White Australians have been alienated and Labor, for example, is more interested in minorities’ wants than Australian needs. God bless you sir: Great work!
