There is an ongoing furore at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) with Muslim groups complaining about facilities that are being provided for their use.
RMIT has already provided eight Muslim prayer rooms for the use of Muslim students and are preparing a ninth room for them as well.
The RMIT city campus has 6 prayer rooms, 2 of which are just for Muslims, whilst another 2 are for the “exclusive use” of Muslim students between 11.30am to 5pm every weekday. RMIT also provides 4 Muslim prayer rooms at their Bundoora campus, plus another 2 more Muslim prayer rooms at their Brunswick campus.
Is this is a sign of things to come? Muslim groups are lobbying institutions for preferential treatment and some people are bending over backwards to give it to them. If public-funded institutions were offering “Christians only” preferential treatment, there would be howls of outrage from the Multiculturalists, with cries of “racism” and “discrimination”.
With an enormous amount of immigration coming from Africa, Asia and the Middle East, there is a continually growing number of Muslims within Australia.
The implications of this immigration are staggering and the resulting impacts upon our society will be enormous.
Both the Labor and Liberal parties, as well as the media, are promoting this state of affairs – and they should not go unchallenged. It is up to you, as an individual, to make a difference. Should Muslims get preferential treatment over everyone else?
